Ο ήλιος είχε πέσει, αλλά τα δέντρα
και τα πρώτα σπίτια του Κάμπου καιγόντουσαν ακόμα
από το φως του ήλιου πούχανε μαζέψει απ’ την αυγή
Μοιάζανε να λάμπουν από μέσα τους, απ’ τη δικιά τους εσωτερική ακτινοβολία
του ελληνικού καλοκαιριού,
που διαρκεί μιαν ώρα περίπου μετά τη δύση του ήλιου,
